When it comes to choosing a diamond for your next piece of fine jewelry, there are four factors to consider when shopping for this stone. Think of them as the four “C’s”; color, cut, carat, and clarity. This article will primarily deal with diamond clarity, in terms of how to evaluate this feature to get the best stone for your next ring or pendant. There are many variations of diamonds, and the variations will affect the look and the value of the stone.
Diamond clarity is important because it will determine whether your stone will sparkle brilliantly or remain dull and lifeless in your jewelry piece. Some jewelers will even attest to the fact that diamond clarity is the most important factor in selecting your diamond. Clarity can affect the brilliance of your stone, but usually only when the flaws are obvious in nature. It is also important to note that diamond clarity is only significant when it is seen in relation to the other factors that affect the quality of your gem.

I remember when I was a kid and all the women wore beautiful diamond engagement rings and standard gold wedding bands maybe with a design on them. All the guys wore just plain gold wedding bands usually with the date of his wedding inscribed on the inside of it. It never even occurred to me that you could put diamonds in the gold bands and, obviously, it didn’t occur to anyone else either as diamond wedding bands used to be almost impossible to find.
Fast forward to my adult years and now I see diamond wedding bands all over the place. Nearly every wedding I have been in as an adult has seen the bride with a beautiful diamond engagement ring and then, as part of a matching set, a beautiful diamond wedding band. I am not sure if this is something new to the rest of the world but it certainly was something new to me. I really liked the look of diamonds set into a woman’s wedding band and I think the notion of a wedding ring set really adds a look of continuity and beauty to a woman’s wedding ring ensemble. Then I was introduced to a man’s diamond wedding band.

Diamond watches are the epitome of luxury and class. They are high end pieces of jewelry which combine a classic watch with a specially crafted diamond and gold design on the bezel of the case. There is a subtle air of elegance in most of them which hints at understated wealth.
Not all diamond watches are so mute in their styles. On the contrary, sometimes the less expensive ones are more obvious in their showiness. The number of diamond in a watch also varies. Some may be studded around the dial, whereas others may have small diamonds instead of numerals. Some may go further to have both and on the strap!
Diamond watches can be specific for men or women or unisex in style. Many top end and mid range watch brands have dress watches for special occasions. The prices can vary from five hundred dollar to twenty five thousand or more.

There are few things more beautiful on a woman’s wrist than a diamond tennis bracelet. But why in the world are these sparkling accessories referred to with the name of a sweaty sport attached? The answer is quite simple. During the 1987 U.S. Open, tennis pro Chris Evert was wearing one of these stone clad beauties. During her match the clasp on her bracelet broke, and she asked the officials overseeing the event to pause the match until the piece of jewelry could be located. Since that occasion, the term “diamond tennis bracelet” has been adopted and stuck. Today you can find these bracelets in a wide array of designs and styles, although the trademark look of all is the line of diamonds that are linked with some sort of setting of a precious metal.
Characteristics of Diamond Tennis Bracelets
Because these bracelets come with a number of stones, diamond tennis bracelets tend to be one of the pricier pieces of jewelry that you can own. The price range generally runs anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on the carat size and the quality of the diamonds. Many diamond tennis bracelets come with stones that are of lesser quality than you will find in a ring, pendant or earrings, simply because the number of stones makes this style less costly. Lower quality stones do not necessarily mean a less brilliant piece of jewelry however, since many diamond flaws are only visible to a well-trained, magnified eye. You can also find less expensive versions of the diamond tennis bracelets with semi-precious stones (like birth stones) intertwined in a colorful pattern, or a geometric pattern of metal with the stones. One popular version like this is to use a metal “X” shape with round stones to give a “hugs and kisses” message.

One of the most important decisions that you will have to make when choosing a diamond ring is the diamond ring settings that you are interested in. There are a few different diamond ring settings to choose from, and it is really the setting which determines the beauty of the ring overall, as this is what people are going to notice most when they look at the ring.
Your Options
There are a few different diamond ring settings options. The prong setting, which is sometimes also known as the claw setting, is the most commonly used ring setting, and this is where the diamond or gem is inserted into three or more metal prongs that form a basket-like base. Then the ends of the prongs here are bent over and shaped accordingly so that they rest snugly against the crown of the ring.

A diamond pendant, not to be confused with a diamond necklace, can be representative of many things like all pendants. Throughout history pendants have served many purposes. These purposes are varied and have changed throughout the years.
Purposes of Pendants
Throughout the years pendants have served many purposes. While modern day diamond pendants have likely never been used for identification purposes, other pendants in the past have. One example of this type is use for a pendant would be military identification pendants, also known as dog tags. These pendants have been used to identify soldiers if they are killed in battle and are either unrecognizable or unknown to the people that find them.
Pendants have also been used to display one’s religion. One example of this is individuals that wear crosses around their necks. Pendants have been used to show faith and other religions as well. Pendants can be used to show faith in Christianity, various pagan and New Age religions, Eastern religions, and various other religions.

The other night I could not sleep so I was flipping through the channels on the television when I made an interesting observation. There are a lot of channels dedicated to selling jewelry. I am not talking about the home shopping channels that sell jewelry and other things all day long. I am talking about the fact that there is more than one channel on my satellite television service that sells just jewelry twenty four hours a day seven days a week. I cannot imagine that they get great ratings but while I was flipping around the channels I happened upon one of the jewelry channels that was selling a diamond pendant necklace. Even I had to stop and watch this one.
In my opinion necklaces are some of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry available. A diamond pendant necklace is probably at the top of the necklace category. There are very few pieces of jewelry that I will take an instant interest in as soon as I see them but I will always stop to check out a diamond pendant necklace. I remember many years ago when my brother worked for a retail jeweler in our local mall. We lived in a small town so expensive pieces of jewelry were always a tough sell, but I will always remember the $50,000 diamond pendant necklace sitting in the glass case in the corner of the store. The stone was cut into the shape of a teardrop and it was on a beautiful gold chain.
